What is it?
Improvising songs can be a scary thing. This workshop is designed to help ease you into the world of musical improvisation. You will learn tips, tricks and lessons which inspire confidence and be able to express your joy. No musical knowledge is required and you can discover with others the magic of musicals from nowhere.
Who is this for?
Anyone who loves improvising and is curious about musical improv. People who love musical improv but have not been able to practise for a while. Adventurers who want to try something new Any improvisers who have completed introduction into improv comedy and introduction to long form. Who are the teachers?
Jon Nguyen is a British / Vietnamese improviser based in Norwich. He has been a member of the Dogface community since 2017 and has been teaching since 2019. He is a member of various groups across the UK including the Maydays, The Comedisasians, Michelle and of course the Dogface House Team. He has taught and performed internationally at improv festivals and regularly teaches courses for Dogface improv.
James Taverner is an improviser, musical director, actor, and writer based in London. He is currently Artistic Director of the group Comediasians and also performs regularly with AdLibretto, Instant Noodling, and The Pretend Company. He loves the magic and joy of musical improv and sharing it through classes and shows.
