Improv may be the least egotistical art form we know. If we stop thinking “How can I be funny/clever/good?” and start thinking “How can I let my scene partner shine?”, we leave space for wonderful things to happen. We can silence our inner critics who doubt our ideas, we can truly build unexpected scenes together and probably very funny ones. And if you’re still secretly wanting to be funny/clever/good, don’t worry, your scene partner will sort that for you (especially if they’ve been to this workshop too!).

Beginners welcome!

Newbies are always welcome at our Sunday morning sessions. We endeavour to make all these accessible to everyone. Some weeks the session may feel a little bit in-at-the-deep-end, but as long as you're happy to jump in, you'll be fine!

Two of Jo's passions are teaching and improv, so teaching improv is definitely her thing! She knows people learn best when treated with kindness, understanding and respect and are supported to be that teeny bit braver. Jo has been super-enthusiastic about improv since a Dogface Improv workshop in 2018. She has attended countless drop-ins, courses, and guest workshops with Dogface, Jules Munns (And Also), The Free Association and many other wonderful improv coaches. She performs with several local troupes such as Ooh! Improv, Stirling & Knock, the Randomologists, and The Brontës Saw Us.
