About the show
Each night we invite one audience member up for a chat, then spin their stories, confessions and passing remarks into a fully improvised comedy show.
It's an Armando — a longform format we've played across Norfolk. We never recreate the interview directly. Instead we take its themes, ideas and emotions somewhere else entirely, returning to our guest through the hour and finishing with a one-minute dream sequence drawn from everything they've told us.
It's a warm, feel-good format, and a careful one. The guest is looked after throughout and is never the butt of the joke.
Coming along
- Running time: 60 minutes.
- Content: may contain themes of an adult nature.
- Booking: no need to book — just turn up. Free entry, with a bucket at the end if you'd like to chip in.
- Access: wheelchair access to the venue via lifts and a ramp.
- Being the guest: entirely up to you. Come and watch if you'd rather — plenty do.
Press & reviewers
You're very welcome — there's no guest list to get on and no ticket to arrange. Turn up, find a seat, and if it'd help to have a word with the company before or after the show, say hello or drop us a line and we'll make time.
Worth knowing before you come: the show is built entirely from whoever sits in that chair on the night, so what you see is genuinely unrepeatable. If you'd like a particular date, or need anything to write the piece up, email info@dogfaceimprov.com.
Press images from this page are free to use in any coverage.
Who we are
The Guest is directed by Danny O'Hara — one half of Bendy House, and a founder, teacher and performer with Dogface Improv. She's a theatremaker, director and actor; 2026 is her 9th Edinburgh Fringe and 3rd year working with PBH.
Dogface Improv is an improv comedy school and community in Norwich, founded in 2016. We run courses, workshops, jams and shows, and our teams have performed at the Edinburgh Fringe many times.
Our other Fringe show
Pantomonium — a brand new improvised panto, made up on the spot from your title. 19:40 at the Central Youth Hostel, also free entry.
